Love this vintage...

Tablecloth set and lace that I picked up at some markets recently.  The kind of tablecloth I have a lot of trouble cutting up.  I hope I can be brave, because this work is so beautiful.

Things may be a bit quiet round here this week, I'll see how I go, we're still fighting illness in our house, nothing new there (sigh), and life is getting a little crazy lately, but I'll be back as soon as I can.  I'd miss you too much to stay away long!

Hmmm.

What to do with this pretty vintage cotton I picked up at the op shop?...It's really lightweight, like a voile of some sort.  Maybe I'll stash it and make a pretty shirt or dress for Ellie when it's warm.  But alas the stash is getting out of control,  I can't help myself...

Any thoughts?

Love this vintage...

Handmade petit point embroidered bag.

Satin lined, with the original tags on.

And in near perfect condition.

Just a teeny bit of age (character I say).

I spotted this baby at some vintage markets last weekend and it was love at first sight.  I couldn't believe it and I still can't.  I'm talking twenty bucks people.  How could I pass her by?

Free Stuff I love: Moleskin covers

We are somewhat addicted to moleskin journals in our household, where they seem to multiply every year.  Honestly, we have shelves and drawers full of them, with various contents from wedding plans, to European vacation budgeting, to journalling, list making, ideas for rainy days, business  and crafty jottings, sketches, sermon notes, you name it.  Perhaps these tutorials and inspiration might help us distinguish between them...

1.  Moleskin cover tutorial from Mr. Monkeysuit
2.  Gorgeous notebook cover tutorial from Little Z handmade
3.  Be inspired by this fabulous paper embroidery at What Katie Does
4.  Downloadable printed cover paper and tutorial at Twig & Thistle
5.  A moleskin from scratch tutorial by Susie Garhemani
6. Free moleskin cover pattern from Keyka Lou
7.  Fabric covered moleskin tutorial from Wise Craft

I love free stuff.  Have a fantastic day everyone.

My creative space.

Confession time.    I finished my first ever quilt top using fabric scraps and discount fat quarters over a year ago, and it's never been quilted or completed, so I am putting my foot down and getting it done.  The back, wadding and quilt top have been sitting in the cupboard and now they're out for good.  No turning back.  I mean it.

I have no good hard surfaces in my house so I'm using this method to hand baste at my dining table, with a huge cutting mat underneath.  It's working brilliantly so far and very therapeutic.  Just like hand stitiching and embroidery is.  Does anyone else use it?  Hate it?  I need advice here, because I'm no quilter, and I'm teaching myself.

Hope you're enjoying this weeks creative spaces!
